Svitlo (Light) is a photographic project that began in January 2024. Through portraits of Ukrainian women artists now based in London, the work seeks connection and understanding, drawing on shared experiences of growing up as artists in Ukraine and witnessing the impact of war. It is a visual exploration of how these women ground themselves in craft and body during times of sorrow. At its heart, the project is an appreciation of women’s ability to love, see, feel, care, create, and share the light they bring into the world through their work.
